Easter seems a long time ago but tonight we are spending some time away from the rush and bustle of the world outside. God’s goodness in creation is all around us but how often do we stop and look, listen, taste, feel or smell that the world is good?
So tonight from 6.30-7pm we will meditate on the goodness of creation with chocolate. All welcome!
At dawn we lit a fire, the Easter candle and celebrated that Christ is risen with a joyful noise and party poppers. However you celebrate Easter may it be blessed and joyful!
Dawn Service at St Mark’s
We love it when Bach to Babies come to us. Classical music, coffee and space to listen, dance and love music. Details are here if you have not been before – https://www.bachtobaby.com/teddington-special/
There are loads of lovely photos on their website but here is one I took of the very first concert.
On Palm Sunday we will be reading the Passion Gospel at 10am with a usual mix of traditional hymns and holy communion. At 4.30pm we are getting ready for Easter with Messy Church and with a special guest of one of the ponies from Park Lane Stables. Then at 6.30pm we have our last lent Stillness on Sunday where we have been exploring themes of stillness and getting closer to God using mindfulness and contemplative prayer.
On Maundy Thursday we have a Service of Holy Communion at 8pm with an optional vigil until 10.30pm
On Good Friday we are joining the ecumenical service on the green outside Teddington Memorial Hospital at 10.30am. At 2pm we will mark the last hour of the cross with a reflective service at 2pm.
On Easter Day we have an early start with a 6.30am Dawn Service. This is not really dawn, that would very early but it will be a Service of the Light as we light our Easter Candle from the Easter fire and then share breakfast together.
Later on that morning we come to our Easter Day Celebration at our 10am Service with Holy Communion, Hymns and Easter Eggs.
You are very welcome to join us if you are visiting the area or if you have been here for ever and wondered what goes on in a church over Easter.
