About St Mark’s

St Mark’s Church is very much a local church with most of the congregation living in the parish. We believe that we are inclusive and friendly. We have close links with the local learning disabled community, local care homes, Teddington Memorial Hospital and with St John the Baptist Church Hampton Wick.

Our worship could be described as traditional as it is focused on the Eucharist. We use Common Worship at 10am on a Sunday and the Book of Common Prayer at our Tuesday 10am service and at 8.30am on the first Sunday of the month . Our music is also traditional as we sing hymns which are led by our choir. Under Revd Karen’s leadership we are learning some of the newer worship songs as well as some Taize chants.

We are exploring new forms of worship with a Messy Church event planned for early February. We are also beginning to explore how the riches of the Christian contemplative tradition can be brought into the 21st century interest in mindfulness in our Stillness on Sunday space which starts on 22nd January at 6.30pm.

We are a prayerful church with Morning Prayer said in the church on a Monday and Friday at 9am. On Tuesday there is a prayer group that meets in the church for prayer at 9am and on Wednesday and Thursday we join with local churches for morning prayer (Wednesday at St Mary and St Alban and Thursday with St Peter and St Paul.)
